Workplace wellbeing funding check: Austria & Germany
Select the country and project. The check identifies a starting point and documents for your next discussion.
Quick answer
Is our workplace wellbeing project eligible for funding?
Eligibility depends on the specific project, program and its current conditions. This check identifies possible routes and advisory bodies. It does not determine entitlement or a grant amount. Confirm conditions and commitments with the responsible body before starting.
Austria: distinguish advice from project funding
The ÖGK offers a starting point for workplace health promotion. Financial project funding through the FGÖ requires a separate assessment. As of 4 October 2026, the general FGÖ programs for practical projects and workplace health promotion are temporarily closed. The FGÖ still lists submission opportunities for training, networking and the “BGF regional: Kleine Betriebe – große Wirkung” call.
Before ordering a service, obtain current information from the responsible body. Feedback on an idea is not a funding decision. The FGÖ’s general funding overview excludes projects that have already started. Availability and deadlines can change, so every Austrian result includes the official overview.
Germany: review three distinct routes
A tax exemption is not a cash grant. Course certification applies to the specific activity and does not automatically fund an entire platform. Employer bonuses also depend on insurer-specific rules and are explained in our Germany guide.
| Project | Starting point | Clarify beforehand |
|---|---|---|
| Workplace health process | Workplace health promotion advice and health insurer, §20b SGB V | Needs, participation and agreed support. |
| Specific prevention course | Provider and relevant health insurer, §20 SGB V | Valid course certification, target group and reimbursement conditions. |
| Additional employer benefit | Payroll and tax advice, §3 no. 34 EStG | Eligible service, additionality and evidence. |
Prepare these documents for the discussion
The check does not ask for diagnoses, insurance numbers or contact details. Organizational information is enough for initial orientation. Employees can clarify individual requirements directly with a provider or insurer; HR does not need private health information for this.
- Country and affected sites.
- Needs, target group and employee involvement.
- A description of individual services rather than a package name alone.
- Planned period and commissioning status.
- Costs, own funds and already confirmed support.
- Responsible owner and planned evidence of implementation.
Confirm first, then include it in the budget
Record the advice, program status and outstanding evidence. Use only confirmed grants for the same scope in your budget. Also plan how to finance the project if funding is unavailable. This keeps an already commissioned activity from depending on an expectation alone.
The entire FIT-UP platform is modular. Digital components, courses and on-site services are assessed separately within the project. Cross-border companies need the appropriate review for each site; German rules do not automatically apply to Austrian teams.

Find your funding starting point
Select organizational details. This identifies advisory routes, not eligibility or a grant amount.
Scope and limitations
- The check provides orientation, not a funding decision or case-specific tax or legal advice.
- Confirm current program status and conditions with the responsible body.
Frequently asked questions
Does the check show a grant amount?
No. It identifies relevant contacts and review steps. It does not calculate an amount or entitlement.
Is the entire platform automatically eligible?
No. Each service and the specific project must be assessed against the appropriate route.
What if the project has already started?
Discuss the actual start status promptly with the responsible body. The FGÖ’s general overview lists already started projects as excluded.
Are my entries sent anywhere?
The check runs in your browser. Entries are not sent to FIT-UP or a funding body.
